What clubs should a beginner carry?

The golf clubs in your bag will be divided into three categories: woods, irons and a golf club. Your forests are the big heads that hit the ball farthest. They used to be made of wood (hence the name), but modern woods are made of metal and carbon. The most prominent wood of all, and the one that hits the ball farthest away is called the driver.

If you're hitting from the tee box and feel like using your driver, you can make it easier to hit the ball by throwing it up. The driver used to be known as 1-wood, more about the numbers and what they mean below. Also in the wood family, you'll find smaller clubs called fairway woods. These can be hit from a tee to start a hole, just like the driver, but with enough practice, you can also hit the wood in your street without a tee and just off the grass.

The last of the three types of clubs is the putter, and this is the one you'll use on the greens to get the ball into the hole. When it comes to your driver, the job is pretty easy; essentially you want something with a big head, and thankfully most modern drivers have it. Some controllers have a lot of weights and moving screws (avoid these), while others, such as the TaylorMade M2, are already configured and ready to go. And when it comes to your first putter, choose something that's comfortable for you.

Something you think you can align the ball well with and roll the ball to the hole. The golf clubs needed for a beginner are a driver or wood, a hybrid, medium irons and a putter. A driver isn't always essential, as golfers will often benefit from learning to hit the tee with a wood or hybrid. Irons are needed on the fairways and around the greens, whereas a putter is always used on the green, or from the edge.

As a beginner golfer, you must bring a driver, a set of irons, a throwing wedge and a putter. The driver is used for the starting shots, the putter is used for the putter and the irons are used for the approach shots. You'll also want to have a bag to carry your clubs and some golf balls. As you improve, you can add more sticks to your bag, but these are the essentials.

The woods have a larger head, allowing you to “drive the ball longer distances. In fact, 1-wood is so well known for this that it is simply called a conductor. There is also a third option, called hybrid. Hybrid golf clubs have a thicker and wider head than an iron, but they are smaller than a wood, making them reasonably useful on the street and may be easier to hit the ball than a driver or an iron 2.To this day, Joey suggests starting with a half game or a two-thirds set, starting with 3, 5, 7 and 9 irons and 3 and 5 wood sticks.

Add your golf club and driver and you're ready to hit the course. If there's one comment that golf club installers are likely to hear most often, it's that beginner golfers tell them that they're not good enough to fit golf clubs. If you're new to golf and looking forward to going out for your first game, but don't know what golf clubs you need to get started, this page is especially for you. I learned a lot from my classes with the golf pro, and one of the most important things was how to select the right clubs for my bag.

However, if you're new to the game and want to pick up some clubs to learn, walking into a golf shop and following the example of a salesman can be a daunting experience. Because every golf swing is different, golf manufacturers have responded by creating different types of clubs that can better serve that swing. You can play golf with fairway wood, iron and putter, but you'll want to learn to use more clubs if you want to be able to handle any situation. However, one of the first peculiarities of golf that beginners learn quickly is that the “woods” are not made of wood.

Street woods and hybrids are different golf clubs, but can be used similarly on the golf course, depending on preference. .
